β¨ Ingredients
- 1 box elbow noodles
- 1 block sharp cheddar (hand-shredded)
- 1 block medium or mild cheddar (hand-shredded)
- 1 block Colby Jack (hand-shredded)
- 1 block mozzarella (hand-shredded)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 stick butter or margarine (per box)
- 2 eggs, whisked
- 1β2 tsp chicken bouillon powder (for boiling water & seasoning blend)
- Seasonings: seasoning salt, garlic powder, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, paprika
- Aluminum baking pan (oven-safe)
π΄ Instructions
- Boil the noodles: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Stir in chicken bouillon powder, then cook elbow noodles until al dente. Drain well.
- Add butter: Return the hot noodles to the same pot. Add the stick of butter and lightly mix to coat (donβt overwork).
- Season the noodles: Add seasoning salt, garlic powder, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, paprika, and a small pinch of chicken bouillon. Toss gently.
- Add the cream & cheeses: Pour the heavy whipping cream into the same pot with the seasoned noodles. Over low heat, slowly mix in the cheeses individually β sharp cheddar, medium cheddar, Colby Jack, and mozzarella β stirring after each until creamy. Save a handful of cheese for topping.
- Pour into pan: Once the noodles are fully coated and creamy, pour everything into the aluminum baking pan.
- Add eggs: Pour whisked eggs over the noodles and gently fold them in until evenly combined. This creates that rich, custardy texture once baked.
- Top & season: Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheeses on top, and lightly season the surface with seasoning salt, black pepper, and paprika for color and flavor.
- Bake: Bake uncovered at 350Β°F for 25β30 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Let rest for 5β10 minutes before serving. Creamy, buttery, and perfectly set β just the way it should be.
π Destanyβs Tip: Always shred your cheese by hand β it melts smoother, tastes richer, and makes all the difference in that creamy, golden bake.
